Painful cramps and lower back pain leading up to or on your period? Try this:

Ginger Compress: Lower back or abdomen.

How to do it:

1. Place a washcloth in a bowl. Grate 1 inch of fresh root ginger and place in the washcloth. 2. Pour about 1 – 2 cups hot water on the ginger in the bowl. 3. Steep for about 15 minutes. 4. Let it cool down for 20 mins or until you can feel that it's not too hot. 5. Take the four corners of the cloth to keep the ginger inside and squeeze out some of the liquid. 6. Apply to lower abdomen or back for 10 minutes or more or less.

Note: Make sure to check your skin regularly to make sure the ginger is not irritating your skin. If it is irritating, you can leave the compress on for less time or use less ginger.
